Current emissions legislation means that virtually all new bikes are fitted with fuel injection with an ECU which needs checking, just like any other part of the bike. The latest additions to bikes' electronics systems are complex CANBUS networks which integrate individual electronic systems (fuel-injection, CO adjustment, immobiliser, fault codes, service lamps, ABS) - even scooter manufacturers use CAN systems now. Although some motorcycle manufacturers offer specific diagnostic tools for their own dealer networks, working on part-exchanged and used bikes requires a more affordable and universal alternative. Otherwise you would need a different electronic tool for every make of bike you service. Texa currently provide the most comprehensive motorcycle coverage available form any other supplier in the world today. Regular updates (by optional subscription service) ensure that you will always have the latest coverage available.

The Axone Direct uses IDC4 Pocket software with a direct cable connection to the bike. With the Axone Direct it is possible to read and erase error messages, check system parameters, reset service warning lights, adjust fuelling, perform active tests and much more. The software includes additional features like wiring diagrams and video information showing diagnostic connection locations etc. A further feature of the IDC4 Pocket software is the ability to store diagnostic information from the vehicle and save this using the registration number. This enables the operator to recall the bike's data, previous service information and test results at a later date thus saving valuable technician time. Additional features include an integral camera (still & video) to record any problems or information – ideal for assessments. Bluetooth connectivity is also provided to allow the Axone Direct to act as an interface with other Texa tools like the 4-channel oscilloscope and gas analyser. Updating is fully automatic – the Axone direct is supplied with a docking station which is equipped with WiFi network connectivity. In this way, the Axone Direct can check every night for available updates via the internet (a WiFi router and internet connection is required).

Axone Direct is built to withstand a workshop environment. The resilient shockproof housing is able to withstand drops from 1 metre onto concrete floors. It is guaranteed to be resistant to oil, water and dust ingress. The touch-sensitive screen is designed for workshop use – it is tough, high-resolution and anti-glare for optimum visibility. A lithium-ion battery ensures long-lasting power when away from its docking station.

If you already have an Axone 2000, upgrading is viable as all cables are interchangeable - we can supply the Axone Direct with or without the cables if you already have them.

For bikes that don't yet support communication via a diagnostic socket, dashboard displayed fault codes are shown for fast troubleshooting without a library of service manuals. An (optional) annual subscription service is available to provide updates for new models and features as they are introduced.
