Integrated infra-red gas analysis: Many engine problems can be detected on an inertia test bench without a gas analyser…provided the technician is experienced and thorough. However, analysing exhaust gases under load on a dyno provides more accurate diagnosis than a simple air/fuel meter. The exhaust gas analysis module for been designed to operate with the Eddy Current control, enabling fast progression of multiple testing. Measurements can be made cylinder by cylinder if required with varying RPM and throttle openings.
However, accurate measurement of multiple exhaust gas emissions at a particular
throttle opening with a fixed engine RPM for several seconds per cylinder
obviously requires the use of a brake and software capable of analysing the
results. Analysing exhaust gases under load on a dyno provides more accurate
diagnosis than a simple air fuel meter. The exhaust gas analysis module for
Kheops has been designed to operate with the Eddy Current control, enabling
fast progression of multiple testing. Measurements can be made cylinder by
cylinder if required with varying RPM and throttle openings.
Measurement of Carbon Monoxide, or CO, shows how rich the fuel/air mixture is.
Measurement of CO, CO2 and HC allows more precise work on carburation, and
highlights problems with compression, head gaskets, ignition faults etc.
Finally, the measurement of Oxygen when used with other gas measurements
improves the accuracy of the diagnosis. The tests can be stored for future
reference. Optimal measurements providing references for standard carburation,
as well as examples of typical problems, can all be saved for each motorcycle
tested.
A live display shows all the gases in real time. Here you can set the
parameters of your gas testing -throttle position, rpm or speed.
