Fuchs Options - Eddy Current Brake

 

 

The eddy current brake can be fitted to the Fuchs BEI251 and the Fuchs 301 test benches. Designed for intensive use, the eddy current brake is supplied as standard with a torque-cell module to measure power while using the brake and allow closed loop control of the brake.

The Fuchs eddy current brake will test up to a maximum power of 420 Hp. It is extremely compact increasing the width of the bench by only 25cm. Brake cooling is achieved by electrical fans and forced air. The hot air from the brake is ducted out from the booth to prevent the air temperature from rising too much within the test room.

The eddy current brake is very quick to respond and is very stable because of the torque sensor and its closed loop system. It is possible to make a complete map for a bike within a relatively short time. This wouldn't be possible with a system that has a very slow reacting brake like some competitors have. A quick and stable rpm stabilising system is crucial for mapping, because if the test takes too long, the bike gets overheated and then you cannot make a correct map.

The brake is supplied with comprehensive software options to enable all types of testing, tuning and analysis. You can use a Fuchs dyno in conjunction with any aftermarket injection tuning product to optimise fuelling at any throttle position or rpm all while seeing real-time horsepower, torque and air fuel ratio figures.
